Intex Aqua Power Review

  • Good
  • Excellent battery life
  • Decent everyday performance
  • Very affordable
  • Bad
  • Heats up in use
  • Awful camera
  • Not very attractive or easy to grip

We've seen a spate of low-cost phones with large batteries launching in the past few weeks, and it's a trend we're very happy about. For too long, the emphasis has been on cutting phones down to make them as slim as possible, which has meant major compromises in terms of battery life. At least customers can now choose utility over style. The Intex Aqua Power is a surprisingly affordable phone which boasts of not only a 4,000mAh battery but also an octa-core processor. We put it to the test to see just how Intex has managed to put its latest device together, and if it's worth buying.

Intex Aqua Power Summary

Anyone who has been caught with a dead battery at an inopportune time will appreciate good battery life in a smartphone, but when we’re talking about the budget end of the market, such a feature always means there’s a compromise somewhere else. In the case of the Intex Aqua Power, that’s most evident in the screen, which has an absolutely awful resolution of 480x854 pixels and is always washed out. The camera is also mostly useless though the octa-core MediaTek MT6592M processor keeps things running smoothly for the most part. We didn’t much care for the device’s gaudy look either. The best part of this phone is its price – if battery life isn’t so important, choose something else.
