Apple has launched the latest edition of their all-in-one PC, the iMac. The new iMacs will be available in two sizes, the 21.5" version and the 27" version.

They have been upgraded with Intel's latest Quad-core Sandy Bridge Processor and the newly launched Thunderbolt Input/ Output (IO) technology. The 27-inch variant of the iMac will have two Thunderbolt ports.

Previously Apple launched the MacBook Pros with the Thunderbolt IO technology, which is touted, to be 20 times faster than USB 2.0 and twice as fast as USB 3.0.

The iMacs also get upgraded AMD graphics with the 21.5-inch version dawning the AMD Radeon HD 6750M chip and the 27-inch version getting the more powerful AMD Radeon HD 6950M chip with 1GB of memory upgradable to 2GB.

The iMac will also receive HD 'Facetime' cameras. Facetime is Apple's proprietary video chat service that can be used to make video calls over a Wi-Fi network. Previously, Apple introduced Facetime cameras in the MacBook Pros as well as the iPad 2.

The price of the iMacs starts at $1199 for the 21-inch base model and goes up-to $1999 for the top of the line 27-inch version. The new iMacs will start shipping from May 4, 2011, in the US. India launch dates were not announced.
