ViewSonic has unveiled the VSD240, a new 24-inch monitor powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, aimed at enterprise users. The smart display will be available in the US beginning April at an expected price of $499.

Engadget reports that the VSD240 sports a plasticky design, but has a responsive screen. Specs wise, the monitor features a full-HD display and is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Tegra 3 chip along with a TI multi-core OMAP processor.

The monitor also comes with a 1.3-megapixel webcam, microphone and speakers. Connectivity options on the VSD240 include WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI, Ethernet and USB ports, along with an SD card slot.

This isn't the first time the company is coming out with Smart Display. In September last year, ViewSonic had launched the VSD220 Smart Display with Android 4.0. The 21.5-inch monitor comes with a 1920x1080 full-HD resolution with the dual-core, ARM-based OMAP 4 processor.

The monitor offered users a combine experience of a tablet and a full-fledged PC. Also, the Smart Display is compatible with a wide variety of keyboards and mouse, including both USB and wireless models.

The VSD 220 boasts connectivity options including a micro-HDMI for plugging in a notebook or tablet for an expanded screen space, as well as three USB ports, a microSD card and plenty of network connection options including RJ45 Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

It houses a 1.2-megapixel webcam, integrated microphones and SRS Premium Sound speakers.

Prior to this, VieSwonic came with a 22-inch VCD22 Smart Display also running on Ice Cream Sandwich. Featuring a full-HD resolution, it packs in a TI OMAP processor and 1GB RAM. It was launched at a starting price of $479.
