  • Perfect for traveling, no bloatware
RatherBeTraveling (Aug 11, 2017) on Amazon
I love Lenovo products. They're better quality than other brands, and if something isn't working right, support in Atlanta is top-notch. I very rarely have to wait on hold, and replacement parts are sent quickly. This is a very good travel laptop. It's small enough to pack, but has a durability that makes me think it can survive the rigors of travel. It has some weight to it, but not enough for me to consider it heavy. It has a chiclet-style keyboard and is not full-size, but that is expected for a 13". In terms of outputs, it is rather no frills. It doesn't have any hdmi or vga output ports, but you should be able to use the thunderbolt 3/usb type-c port to achieve this. This may be a deal-breaker for some who might connect their laptop to projectors or other screens frequently, and don't want to transport any adapters. This laptop also does not have a touchscreen, like some other laptops of this size. The laptop does make up for those "shortcomings" with its back-lit keys, a fingerprint scanner that allows for quick and easy sign-ins, and its solid construction. Another big positive is that while it has a Lenovo app that offers software/apps, it doesn't auto-install useless bloatware or crippling antivirus software that most people don't want.

  • Excellent
Osprey (Jul 27, 2017) on Amazon
This is an excellent laptop. It is ultra thin and ultra light. It has plenty of processing power for normal computer use, and the battery lasts all day.The fold flat feature is pretty nice as it gives a bit more flexibility than an ordinary computer. Fan noise can be a bit loud at times, so if you are looking for a dead quiet computer you might need to look elsewhere. But the fan is not constantly on, so it is not a huge deal (and it is just a pleasant white noise whooshing sound). The screen is excellent quality and has superb resolution. Movies and shows look great on it.The keys are a bit squishy to me, but I primarily use a docked laptop with a mechanical keyboard, so any non-mechanical feels weird to me. The keyboard is certainly no deal breaker, and the keys are all responsive and have no issues. Trackpad took a bit of getting used to as it is apparently divided into sections with different functionality than I am used to. Once learned, it is a breeze to use.

  • Grade: A+
Music Maker (Aug 27, 2017) on Amazon
While I was setting up this laptop for my personal use, I was also setting up another well-known brand laptop for work. This Lenovo was quicker and easier to set up, much more user friendly. As a personal laptop, I use it for writing, email, web surfing and downloading pictures so I don?t need every bell and whistle? however, this has some special features such as a fingerprint scanner, lighting fast speed and a long battery life.I miss the CD/DVD player but I?m told this feature is becoming outdated with the use of thumb drives which can hold a more memory in less space. Also, most DVD?s are now available online. (This feature is not on my new work laptop either.)It?s lightweight and travels well. Fits easily into my back pack, suitcase or even a large purse to take wherever I choose. With the two USB ports and an SD card reader, I can plug in a cell phone, a thumb drive and a memory card from camera at the same time. This allows downloading pictures to the thumb drive while charging the cell phone.

  • Lightweight and super-responsive
    Susie Q. (Aug 10, 2017) on Amazon
I have been using this laptop for over a month, and I have to admit that I'm in love. It is so much faster than my previous laptop. It is lightweight, super responsive, and the battery life has been exceptional.I do a lot of graphic design on my laptop, and I haven't experienced any of the lag that I used to with my old computer. There have only been a few times when the response time has slowed, and that is when I had about 8 different programs open at the same time. There is not a significant amount of memory, but load time is quick and nowadays, I utilize a lot of cloud storage options, so available space on my hard drive is not as significant. The only complaint I've had so far has been that the touchpad can be a little bit finicky, sometimes the pointer arrow jumps to a location on the screen that I wasn't intending. This has been easily worked-around with a cheap wireless mouse. I would definitely recommend a wireless mouse if you're doing any sort of photo or graphic editing, it just makes things much easier.Speed, battery life, and lightweight portability make this laptop a winner in my book. The fingerprint reader makes logging onto my computer effortless. The screen is quite large considering the size of the laptop. The image goes almost all the way to the edge of the screen. The screen resolution is excellent and crisp.A few things to keep in mind:*No CD/DVD drive (this helps keep the laptop ultra-thin and light, but you may need to consider an external DVD drive if you need that type of functionality.*No ability to expand the hard drive memory - You can, however, use either cloud storage or an external hard drive if space is an issue.*There is no HDMI port, but there is an SD card reader and two USB ports.

  • Lightweight and Responsive
Lynne Hersh (Jul 30, 2017) on Amazon
This slim, lightweight Ideapad is a perfect choice. The battery performs at an excellent level and has a long standby level as well. Videos are crisp and there is no lag while streaming. During set up a password was required and I cannot figure out how to remove it so if you do not want a password see if you can bypass it during setup. I am now using the fingerprint scanner which is set up for both my husband and myself. With cloud storage options I am sure the memory on the device is sufficient for long term use. Using video chat is easy and the images are clean and clear. Audio is strong and so far I have used the internal audio mostly for streaming videos. The keyboard is responsive, quiet and comfortable for my small hands and my husband's bigger paws. The machine turns on almost instantly and responds quickly. After using a clunky Toshiba gaming laptop with lagging performance for a few years this Lenovo is delightful.

  • Slim, Light-weight, and Great Keyboard Feel.
Benjamin Thomas (Jul 24, 2017) on Amazon
I'm very pleased with this delightful little laptop. I've been looking for a nice lightweight laptop that I could easily take with me and use mainly for my writing. The idea of propping myself up against a tree trunk in the park and writing away the afternoon hours has a lot of appeal for me. This is a very thin, very light computer but does not skimp on the power. Its efficient design was obviously intended for mobile use. Set up was very straightforward and the Windows updates seemed to go very quickly. I think its best feature is the feel of the keyboard which has great tactile response and avoids the clacky sounds that some keyboards make. Often with laptops or tablets, my quick-typing fingers seem to cause problems for the keyboard and not every keystroke is captured. I find myself constantly going back and filling in missing letters or spaces. Not a problem with this one. The only negative I can come up with is that I've noticed the fan can get a bit loud when doing some serious downloading, but I've experienced that with other laptops as well.Overall, this laptop earns a solid A from this user.

  • Super laptop, great connectivity, love it
Mickey (May 24, 2018) on Amazon
I bought this one after struggling with a comparable Dell for weeks, it just wouldn't connect to my home WiFi, and I tried everything (new modem, etc.) it just kept fading in and out. I finally broke down and returned it and bought this Lenovo. I've had it for months and couldn't be happier, it always connects well to any wifi, battery lasts a nice long time, and its very pretty and pleasant to use. Highly recommended.

  • This is an amazing laptop
Atomic Tofu (May 5, 2020) on Amazon
The Lenovo Ideapad 710S Plus 13" Traditional Laptop Computer is awesome, just lacking one minor thing that really isn't a thing, a touchscreen. Otherwise, this is still going strong and used by wife as her office computer to do business and consume media. The Lenovo Ideapad was also taken overseas as a vacation laptop, beat up for a little bit, and survived the trip back and put back to work. It performs wonderfully and the fingerprint and security features of this laptop are among the best. If you want you can set it to never allow certain things to install without an extra level of security that requires you, a live person, to confirm and allow.

Don't buy it, instead go for hp Pavillion x360 laptops, they are touchscreen, convertible and come with a lot more exciting features at about same price.

Lenovo has refused to honor the warranty of the product as it was presold to someone else. A resold product has been labeled as new. Outright cheating on part of the seller

  • Overheating on the third day!
Anette (Aug 29, 2018) on Amazon
I am a fan of Lenovo, I got one a couple of years ago and I am really happy with the results. So, when I started to search for options for a lighter Laptop for work and travel, I was really keen in getting Lenovo.Regarding the size and weight, the Lenovo Ideapad was exactly what I was expecting. The design is slick and it looks beautiful!!But, from the third day I had it for, it started shutting down for no reason. What really concerned me was that the fan went off immediately after just 10 minutes regular use and it overheated really quickly. After just using Microsoft office and doing a few searches online it would start to get so hot you could barely touch it.Unfortunately, I am returning it!!! I might have been the unlucky one to get damaged product....

  • Fan noise under Win10 may make this a lemon in 2018
CynBio (May 10, 2018) on Amazon
This one is either broken out of the box or ya'll have a much higher tolerance for insanely loud fans than I do. I've tried a number of fixes suggested under the search term "710S Plus loud fan," but so far no luck. I'm chatting right now with Lenovo customer support and will absolutely return this noisy critter if they can't fix it within 30 minutes. Ridiculous.Update: Lenovo recommends sending it back, suggests hardware is defective.
