Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer Asus is all set to launch its latest handsets at the MWC 2018. It is expected, at the event, Asus will announce the ZenFone 5 series of smartphones. The company has already released an invitation for its MWC conference that is scheduled for February 27. And ahead of the launch, diagrams of one of the upcoming ZenFone 5 models have surfaced online.

As per a report by Winfuture, several images captured from a manufacturer's manual showcase the upcoming ZenFone 5 handset bearing the model name X00PD. The leaked images suggest the ZenFone 5 will sport a 5 .7-inch bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio and a dual rear camera setup. The renders reveal a smartphone featuring minimal bezels at the top and bottom. Due to the thin bezels, the fingerprint scanner appear to be positioned at the back. Meanwhile, the top bezel seems to have a camera, sensors, an earpiece, and a notification light.

In the leaked images, Asus appears to have stayed with the headphone jack. However, the key change is that the dual-camera setup in the smartphone is now vertically placed, similar to the Apple iPhone X. Additionally, there is an LED light and a micro-USB port as well.

Asus' official invitation hints the launch of the ZenFone 5 series as it comes with the #BACKTO5 hashtag. It also features a "We Love Photo" tag that was originally used at the time of launching the ZenFone 4 lineup in 2017.

It is interesting to note that the model number ASUS X00QD had recently received a certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance. The smartphone is rumoured to be unveiled as the Asus ZenFone 5 Max, the successor of the last year's ZenFone 4 Max. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo and comes with a dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi support, as per the certification.

Additionally. Asus may also announce another model called ZenFone 5 Lite that recently received a certification in Russia. That handset is expected to feature a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and a Snapdragon SoC.
