Celkon RahmanIshq AR40 with Android 4.2 launched at Rs. 5,999

Celkon Mobiles has launched its third AR Rahman-themed smartphone, the AR40 for Rs. 5,999, under the RahmanIshq series. The smartphone will be available in physical stores and at online retailers across the country in coming days, as per the company.

The Celkon RahmanIshq AR40 is being promoted as a music smartphone by the company and is targeted to music lovers, much like the AR45 and AR50. The Celkon RahmanIshq AR40 comes with a 4-inch display (unspecified resolution) and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. The AR40 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and supports FOTA (firmware-over-the-air). The smartphones comes with 512MB of RAM and includes 4GB of inbuilt storage, further expandable up to 32GB with microSD card.

The AR40 sports 3.2-megapixel rear autofocus camera and also houses a VGA front-facing camera. Connectivity features on the device include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ AGPS and 3G. It packs a 1500mAh battery, though no word on talktime and standby time. It is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device with support for dual standby.

The Celkon RahmanIshq AR40, much like the AR50 and AR45, features special ringtones composed by music director AR Rahman.

Earlier this month, Celkon launched two smartphones, the AR45 and AR50 under RahmanIshq series.

The Celkon RahmanIshq AR45 features 4.5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex A7 MediaTek processor. The device runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and supports dual-SIM with dual standby.

On the other hand, the Celkon RahmanIshq AR50 comes with 5-inch display (unspecified resolution) and is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Cortex A7 processor. The AR50 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and supports dual-SIM with dual standby.
