Google has announced that its visual-search tool, Google Goggles, was coming to the iPhone, to be in place today.

For those who are unfamiliar, Google Goggles uses an iPhone's camera to identify things in the physical world. Point your iPhone's lens at a building, a piece of art, a book or other objects and, hopefully, the app will identify the object and call up the corresponding search result. This video shows the app in action.

Google Goggles is part of the Google app for iPhone, which is free. The feature has not yet been added to the Google app, but is expected soon.
