HTC's latest addition to the One family, the One (E8) aka Vogue Edition, has received an impressive response in China.

According to the Taiwanese giant's Weibo account, which is China's version of Twitter, the company sold 50,000 units of the HTC One (E8) in just 15 minutes.

Launched earlier this month, the HTC One (E8) was expected to go on sale in select markets in June; however, the company had not revealed the pricing at the launch.

The HTC One (E8) is available in China for CNY 2,999 (translating roughly to Rs. 29,000) and as of now, there is no word when the handset will be available outside China.

HTC said on Weibo, "# One public attention # 50,000 units, 15 minutes. HTC proud of each figure, by our common creation.[English translation using Bing]"

The HTC One (E8) sports a similar design to the original HTC One, though it features curvier, plastic body (polycarbonate) instead of a metal casing. The device will be available in a dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) variant in some regions. The HTC One (E8), based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, features a 5-inch SLCD 3 display with a full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution, which translates to a pixel density of 441ppi.

It is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8975AC) processor, alongside 2GB of RAM and the Adreno 330 GPU. The plastic edition of HTC's One (M8) flagship comes with a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, and also houses a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

However, the One (E8) misses the highlight of the One (M8) - the dual rear camera setup that puts a 4-UltraPixel camera alongside a depth sensing camera.

The One (E8) comes with 16GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). In terms of connectivity options, the HTC One (E8) supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with Direct and DLNA functionality; 4G LTE; 3G; GPRS/ EDGE; GPS/ A-GPS with Glonass; Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP; Micro-USB; and a 3.5mm audio jack.
