HTC One X+ has been the subject of various leaks and the Taiwanese company's latest flagship is now official.

Tuesday, HTC announced the launch of HTC One X+, the successor to the popular HTC One X. As revealed in our report last week, the HTC One X+ features a 1.7 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 AP37 processor, 64GB of internal storage and a 4.7-inch display. Other improvements include a bigger, 2100mAh battery that, according to HTC, offers 50% more talk time compared to its predecessor, and a beefed-up front-facing camera. The phone comes with the same 8-megapixel rear camera that shipped with the HTC One X.

Thankfully, unlike so many other new launches, HTC One X+ will ship with the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean, on board. Of course HTC's own Sense 4+ sits atop Android 4.1. Also bundled is Beats Audio with new Tap and Go function, which allows you to connect the phone and your music to Beats speakers' when you tap them, not dissimilar to the NFC-equipped Bluetooth speakers that Nokia demoed at the Lumia 920 launch.

"We are taking the HTC One X to a new level with the introduction of the new HTC On X+," said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. "Our customers will have super-fast browsing, an even better camera and more immersive entertainment with Beats Audio."

The HTC One X+ will be available in Europe and North Asia this month and South Asia (including India) in November.

HTC also confirmed it will start rolling out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for HTC One X and HTC One S this month.
