Intex Aqua I-5 with 1.2GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.2 launched for Rs. 11,690

Intex Technologies has launched its Intex Aqua I-5 smartphone in the Indian market. This smartphone will be available at a best buy price of Rs. 11,690.

Intex Aqua I-5 is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone packs in 4GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded by up to 32GB via microSD card.

The latest smartphone in the Aqua series boasts a 5.0-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen. Intex Aqua I-5 runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). For camera, there is a 12-megapixel rear auto-focus camera along with flash and a 2-megapixel front camera. The rear camera of this smartphone also comes with five layer lenses and BSI Sensor.

Intex Aqua I-5 comes with a 2,000mAh battery, which as per the company claims provides a talk time up to 5 hours and standby time of about 7 days. It is a dual-SIM GSM + GSM smartphone. Other connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi. This smartphone is also equipped with four sensors - Environment Light Sensor, Motion Sensor, Proximity Sensor and G sensor.

This smartphone is available in two colour options White and Black. To sweeten the deal, Intex is also giving a flap cover for free with this smartphone.

Commenting on the launch, actor Farhan Akhtar said, "I am a tech enthusiast and have an inexplicable love for gadgets that make my life easier and exciting. My phone is an extension of who I am and thus need to have features that would simplify my life. Intex Aqua gives me the option to read on the go, shop online, play games, capture moments and stay connected with my family at all times".

Commenting on company's progress with the launch of Aqua , Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, GM-Mobility Division, Intex Technologies Ltd., said; "The Smartphone penetration is witnessing an upward swing in India and is encouraging for handset companies such as Intex to innovate and put forth offerings that combine the latest technologies and features at an affordable price. The Intex Aqua series has done phenomenally well and we are pleased to introduce the flagship model the series called Aqua I-5. Feature rich, technologically advanced, this phone will make an ideal companion to the young generation who is always on the lookout for better, faster and savvier smartphones on the go that are value for money"

Intex is currently offering 12 mid-segment smartphones under its Aqua range and has drawn out plans to launch 20 more smartphones in the coming quarter. The company also shared that it plans to sell two million Aqua smartphones in the current financial year.
