After backtracking from the promised ICS update for the LG Optimus 2X earlier this year, the Korean manufacturer now seems to have decided to bring the update after all.

LG Korea announced this development via a tweet. Trying to make sense of the message using Google translate, the message approximately reads:

Optimus 2X ICS will be applied according to the results of upcoming tests. We will try to let you know the schedule of Optimus 2X ICS update as soon as possible. Please expect anoptimized ICS experience.

This comes in conflict with LG Canada's tweet back in July that mentioned a cancellation of the Android 4.0 update for Optimus 2X without citing any reason. Nothing is certain here except for the confusion in the minds of LG Optimus 2X users.

We can only confirm about the update for Korean 2X users right now, but if the company is able to provide an update in Korea, we can expect in other parts of the world too.

Even now, there is no official schedule for the update. Apart from this, the company is also testing an ICS update for the Optimus 3D as seen from their latest tweet with the exact same message a few days back. But again, this could apply only for the Korean version of the device.
