After showcasing the next generation Windows Phone 8 smartphones - Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 to the world, the Finnish handset has released a generation old Lumia 900 in India. This smartphone was first showcased in January 2012 at Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Priced at Rs. 32,999, Nokia Lumia 900, has a 4.3-inch display with WVGA 800x480 pixel resolution. It is powered by single-core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon. Other key features include 8MP camera with LED flash, 512 MB RAM, 16 GB internal memory and 1830mAh battery.

The smartphone is available in magenta, black, cyan and white colour options.

Nokia usually treats India as one of its critical markets and is quite bullish about launching smartphones but Lumia 900 is an exception of sorts. Not only is this smartphone delayed in terms of launch but has also become out-dated. Nokia has already announced its new flagship smartphones Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, which will run on the newly launched Windows Phone 8 OS. While Lumia 900 is still running on older Windows Phone 7.5 and will not get updated to Windows Phone 8.

Though Nokia will roll out a Windows 7.8 update for Lumia 900, which will add some of the features that are being offered in Windows Phone 8 but that will not change things much. Another downside for this smartphone is its price. In the times, when most smartphones at this price point are offering dual-core or even quad-core processor, Lumia 900 comes with a 1.4 GHz single core processor.
