More information about the rumoured Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) model has hit the Internet. Some of the smartphone specifications have been tipped via a leaked kernel source.

Spotted by users via GSMArena, the purported kernel source of the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) reveals a full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution display; Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC; 13-megapixel rear camera with the Samsung S5K3L2XX sensor, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a Samsung S5K5E3YX sensor, 1.1um pixels, and 23mm f/2.2 lens. Also hinted at are a fingerprint sensor, microSD card support, and a 4300mAh battery.

Most of the specifications mentioned above fall in line with the ones seen in the handset's alleged GFXBench results. The benchmark additionally tipped the Galaxy J7 (2016) would run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and sport a 5.5-inch screen; Adreno 405 GPU; 3GB RAM, and 16GB of inbuilt storage. However, the benchmark shows the smartphone to include a 12-megapixel rear camera instead of a 13-megapixel camera, and a Snapdragon 615 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz.

The benchmark had added primary camera will feature autofocus functionality along with face detection, HDR, and touch focus features. Other features seen are accelerometer, compass, light sensor, proximity sensor, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and Wi-Fi.

For reference, the original Samsung Galaxy J7 smartphone, which was launched in July last year, runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. It was also the company's one of the first smartphones to feature a front-facing flash making it a selfie-focus smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 houses a 5.5-inch Super Amoled display with a HD screen resolution of 720x1280 pixels. It packs a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC coupled with 1.5GB of RAM under-the-hood, 16GB of inbuilt storage, and a 3000mAh battery rated to deliver 354 hours of standby time. It sports a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with f/1.9 aperture and 5-megapixel front camera. Apart from 4G, the handset supports 3G, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, Glonass, and Micro-USB.
