  • Geekbench benchmark results for Galaxy S9+ leaked
  • Case renders suggest dual camera setup on Galaxy S9+

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are about to become the talk of the town - come 2018 - and it seems Samsung is too eager to announce its next flagship smartphone range. Screenshots from Samsung's music creation app Soundcamp reveal a phone that looks a lot like the Galaxy S9 renders. Separately, the Galaxy S9+ has been spotted on Geekbench, revealing some specifications, while renders of Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ cases tip the design of the smartphones.

The South Korean consumer electronics giant has since September been using an unannounced Samsung smartphone in the screenshots for its first-party music app Soundcamp. This smartphone, interestingly, resembles the Galaxy S9 renders and design leaks that we have seen in the past few weeks. Despite that, we will need to take the rumour with a grain of salt until an official announcement.

In another set of leaks for the upcoming smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S9+ with purported model number SM-G965U1 appeared on Geekbench. With an impressive single-core score of 2422 and multi-core score of 8351, the Galaxy S9+ performed upwards of 25 percent better than the Galaxy S8+ that had scores of 1929 and 6084 in single-core and multi-core results respectively.

The Geekbench listing also reveals that an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and 6GB of RAM will power the Galaxy S9+. The smartphone will be based on Android 8.0 Oreo.

Yet another leak comes from a new case for the Galaxy S9+. Mobilefun has listed a dozen cases, from Olixar, for the upcoming Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. According to the case renders, the Galaxy S9+ will have a dual camera setup while the smaller Galaxy S9 will not - matching recent leaks. The cases are currently up for pre-order. Olixar had, in June this year, accurately predicted the design of the iPhone X.

Earlier this week, the front and back panels of the upcoming Galaxy S9 were leaked online. A Bloomberg report had also stated that the Galaxy S9 duo will be launched in late February with an early March release for both the variants.

Recent reports about the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ include anticipation of an improved iris scanner and the expected use of a next-gen substrate like PCB technology on the upcoming flagship smartphones.
