Strontium Launches iDrive 3.0 With Lightning Connector for iOS Devices

Strontium Technology, a PC and flash memory maker, has launched three new accessories for smartphones, tablets, and cameras.

The firm has introduced Strontium iDrive 3.0 with Lightning connector for iPhones and iPads, said to be the first external storage drive for iOS devices and one that doesn't require a cable. Strontium Nitro Plus On-the-Go (OTG) USB 3.0 drive, and Strontium 128GB Nitro UHS-1 (U1) microSDXC flash card, all of which are available online in India via popular e-commerce websites.

While the iDrive 3.0 for iOS devices will arrive in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB at Rs. 5,145, Rs. 6,195, and Rs. 7,245 respectively, the Nitro Plus OTG 3.0 will be available at Rs. 849.00, Rs. 1,369 and Rs. 2,749 for its 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models. The 128GB Nitro UHS-1 microSDXC flash card is priced at Rs. 7,350.

The Strontium iDrive 3.0 is an external storage drive made for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus (and other iOS devices with Lightning ports). The drive features a USB 3.0 connector (to connect to Mac/ PC machines) on one side and a Lightning port (to connect with compatible iOS devices) on the side. As per the company, the 64GB iDrive 3.0 can store up to 960 minutes of HD video, 26,208 photos, or 16,000 mp3 songs. Strontium says the external storage drive can work as a backup drive for media, calendar and contacts. The drive also comes with a free app for auto file management and security.

The Strontium Nitro Plus OTG USB 3.0, like the iDrive 3.0, can store and transfer content, such as photos, videos and music, from PC/ Mac machines to smartphones/ tablets and vice versa. It features USB 3.0 connector on one side, and a microUSB connector on the other side. The accessory is rated to deliver read/ write speeds of 120/ 90MB per second.

Lastly, the Strontium 128GB NITRO UHS-1 microSDXC flash card for portable devices like smartphones, tablets, cameras and others, offers read speeds of 70MB per second. The microSDXC flash card also comes free with USB card reader and SD adapter to allow easy transfer.
