Gaming smartphones are a niche when you look at the smartphone market as a whole. Not too long ago, a powerful processor was considered to be the only important factor for gaming. Things have changed drastically now, and we have dedicated gaming smartphones, each one bringing something different to the table. The Nubia Red Magic 3, for instance, had an internal fan which helped it keep thermals in check. We liked it as a gaming device, but it wasn't very good at everything else. Nubia, the company behind that phone, has now launched an update called the Nubia Red Magic 3S.
Nubia Red Magic 3S Summary
The Nubia Red Magic 3S is a gaming smartphone and a successor to the Redmagic 3. It sports a big 6.65-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is available in two colours Mecha Silver and Cyber Shade. The smartphone has shoulder buttons on the right side to help with gaming. At the back it has a single camera setup and an RGB light strip which lights up for incoming notifications and while gaming.
Nubia Red Magic 3S is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC and comes in two variants 8GB RAM with 128GB of storage and the other with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage. It also gets UFS 3.0 storage which helps improve speeds.
The Nubia Red Magic 3S packs a 5,000mAh battery and it also has an internal fan to keep the temperature under control while gaming. It has support for 27W fast charging but only gets an 18W charger. It only has a single camera at the back and its performance is underwhelming. It also misses out on some crucial camera features.
