Twitter Finally Releases an Official WordPress Plugin

The new official Twitter plugin for WordPress, found at the WordPress site, brings a plethora of features.

For instance, it automatically generates Twitter Cards for your pages, enables Twitter Analytics, lets easily embed tweets and videos apart from adding a Tweet button to posts in the admin interface, and allowing the placement of Follow buttons on every page.

There is an option that allows you to tweak the look of embedded tweets on your site, so it matches your theme, along with a number of features that help users get started with Twitter advertising, including simplified conversion tracking and creating tailored audiences with a WordPress macro. Twitter is also providing the base PHP libraries on GitHub for developers.

The new Twitter plug-in for WordPress is available for free in 28 languages.

Describing the new plugin, Twitter's Niall Kennedy in a blog post said, "WordPress software powers millions of sites around the web from large global brands such as Katy Perry and Mercedes-Benz to your local grocery store.
