Silicon Valley-based iRevo Multimedia on Tuesday announced that it is scaling up its operations in India with the launch of two new products, iRevo SmartTV and iRevo SmartPC. The company has already started selling its products on major online portals, and will soon expand to the offline market as well.

The new products feature quad-core processors and Android 4.4. The SmartTV connects to your existing television set to offer smart capabilities, which includes access to major online content service providers, along with an extensive cloud-based library of on-demand content. The device features a tile-based user interface modeled along the lines of Metro UI, although it is possible to exit the UI (which is simply an app within a stock version of Android 4.4) and access a vanilla Android user interface.

The second device launched on Tuesday is the SmartPC, which offers users a starter PC experience, with extensive browser and app capabilities built into the user interface itself. This is also an Android device, but comes bundled with a keyboard and mouse in the box for easier PC use with a TV/display. Both devices start at Rs. 7,499 for the 8GB variants, although the SmartTV can be bought with a Nintendo Wii-like 'Air Mouse' controller for Rs. 8,499, while the Smart PC also features a 16GB variant, for which the price has not been revealed as yet.

The devices are currently available through online retailer Amazon.in, with plans to expand to other online portals in the coming weeks. The company will also be pushing the devices through regular distribution channels to brick-and-mortar stores in 10 key cities in India.
