Xiaomi '90 Minutes' Ultra-Light, Waterproof, and Windproof Jacket Launched

It appears that there is no segment that Xiaomi will not dare to enter. If you thought that the tech giant would never enter the garment space, Xiaomi has just proved you wrong with its new 90 Minutes jacket. The ultra-light, waterproof, and windproof jacket has has been unveiled on the Mi crowdfunding platform, and has been priced at only CNY 229 (roughly Rs. 2,300).

Xiaomi has tied up with popular Chinese wearable brand 90 Points to manufacture the jacket. It positions the jacket as an ideal travel companion because of its light weight and multiple usages. The 90 Minutes jacket protects from rain, cold winds, and comes with an earphone hook on the zip to prevent tangling. First reported by GizmoChina, the 3D cut jacket's outer coating is made of DuPont Teflon fabric, with the new Teflon EcoElite fabric processing.

It comes in different shapes and sizes (small, medium, large, and extra-large) for men and women. For men there is an additional XXL size, while the 90 Minutes jacket is available in Black, Bright Grey, Dark Blue, and Military Green colour options. For women, it is available in Black, Light Grey, and Rose Red colour options. The jacket is up for registrations on the company website, and Xiaomi will begin shipping it from October 18.

With this jacket, Xiaomi has further diversified its extensive product portfolio. The company recently tied up with Chinese startup Soocare Cassels to come out with a $35 (roughly Rs. 2,350) smart electric toothbrush to take on Philip's Sonicare lineup of electric toothbrushes. And let's not forget the Mi Robot Vaccum cleaner, and the smart Mi Washing Machine that Xiaomi launched last month.
