This week, we caught up with Praveen Rajpal, the founder and CEO of Rockstand, an Indian ebook marketplace with a range of content, from magazines, to academic books, to fiction in various Indian languages. Rajpal, who told NDTV Gadgets he started his first company while still in college, tells us that he's a sports and music buff, aside from being a technophile.
Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
Praveen Rajpal: I carry multiple devices but I am currently hooked on to Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and my iPad Air to stay in touch, get information and get all my work done. I like to try out new apps to keep a track of the developments in app world, my Samsung S6 Edge provides me with the flexibility of multitasking.
What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
Praveen Rajpal: Apart from Rockstand, I spend major part of my app usage time on WhatsApp and BBM for seamless communication everywhere and NDTV News app to stay updated with news all the time.
What is the one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
Praveen Rajpal: It is very important for me to stay updated with all the communications and I prefer using a mobile device for the same. Hence, one gadget which I never travel without is my phone; nothing else is essential.
What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
Praveen Rajpal: Nothing as such, but it would be interesting to see how much faster and convenient the communication can get.
How has technology changed the way in which you work?
Praveen Rajpal: Technology has brought our teams a lot closer and made communication simpler for me. It is one of the strongest pillars of my work-life which helps me in getting work done more efficiently.
