Google has announced that its Chrome for Android browser is now officially out of its Beta version and will be available for download on the Google Play store for devices running Ice Cream Sandwich and above.

Version 18.0.1025123 marks the release of Chrome for Android as a Stable Channel for the first time. The updates include minor interface tweaks with improved stability and other performance fixes.

Chrome for Android was released in February this year and has been upgraded many times since. The search giant hasn't stated whether the development process remains the same as its desktop counterpart which currently offers three channels; stable, beta, and dev. Google suggested that users will have to stay tuned to find out more on Chrome for Android.

What's more, Google also announced that Chrome for Android will feature as a default browser on its just launched Nexus 7 tablet. This makes the device a first of its kind to ship with the browser pre-installed. There's no official word yet for the browser on other Android devices.
