Hike Messenger, the instant messaging platform from Bharti SoftBank, is now offering unlimited free SMS to its users. According to the latest plan from the company, the more a user chats on Hike, the more free SMS they will get and there is no limit to the amount of free SMS that can be earned.

The announcement was made by the company on its official blog on Monday. "Starting today, instead of giving you a fixed SMS balance every month we're going to tie your SMS balance to the amount you chat on hike. The more you chat, the more SMS you get! It's that simple. Sky's the limit," the blog explained.

Users will also get 20 free SMS from the company as they join Hike (Review) for the first time, and will get a quick one-time bump of 50 free SMS on a successful invite sent to their friends. Notably, the free SMS balance lapses if a user remains inactive for more than 30 days.

The Hike Messenger app is available on all smartphone software platforms and recently the company said that it has gone from gone 5 million users to 15 million users in just 9 months.

"Our goal with the new round of funding is to double down on growth, further expand our team, hiring the best talent so we can topple the year we just had. We want to exit 2014 as the #1 messaging platform for the youth" the company wrote during announcement.
