Some Microsoft Edge users will finally be able to test browser extensions. Microsoft has brought this functionality in a new Windows 10 build it released to Insiders on Thursday.

Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14291, which Microsoft released to Insiders on Fast Ring on Thursday, brings extensions support to the Edge browser. Users on the aforementioned build can click on "More" at the top right in Microsoft Edge and click "extensions" to open the Extensions pane. As of now, only Microsoft Translator, Reddit Enhancement Suite, and Mouse Gestures extensions are available. Microsoft says it will be releasing more extensions soon. Insiders on the Slow ring will get extensions support soon. Regular Windows 10 users can expect the feature in a future update.

As we noted in our Windows 10 review last year, the lack of extensions support in Microsoft Edge was crippling an otherwise decent Web browser. Microsoft had assured users that it will be releasing this feature in 2016, and it appears it's now comfortable with testing the feature with some enthusiasts.

Microsoft Edge is getting a number of other features and improvements as well. For instance, users now have the ability to pin tabs on the Web browser. One can do so by right-clicking on the tab they want to pin and choosing Pin tab option. Edge users will now also be able to copy any link into the clipboard, and right-click on the address bar in Microsoft Edge and choose "Paste and go" from the content menu.

On the sidelines, Microsoft also released a new Windows 10 Mobile preview build for users. The build 14291 comes with an updated Alarms & Clock app. It also offers one-handed kana touch keyboard for Japanese text typing. Other features include a Feedback Hub, which users can use to report errors and make suggestions to Microsoft.
