With the new version (v 5.0) of Opera Coast, you wouldn't need a separate news app to keep up with the world, or at least that's what the Norway-based company believes. The company on Thursday updated Opera Coast for iPhone and iPad to feature aggregated news articles from your favourite websites right in the Web browser.

There's a new section in the free Web browser called "For you", available from the home screen of the app, which automatically fetches articles from the websites you frequently visit. The company says that the app offers personalised, and customisable news experience.

"Our goal is to make news so attractive, fast and relevant that Opera Coast users won't need to use other apps like Apple News, Flipboard, Facebook Notify or Nuzzel to get their daily updates," says Huib Kleinhout, Product Manager for Opera Coast.

While the feature seems to be aimed at apps such as News and Flipboard, the company insists that the new addition is inspired from apps like Snapchat and Instagram that help users discover new exciting things.

The news feed, the company says, will update every 10 minutes after you've read the latest news from those channels, or when new stories are available on your favourite websites. The app also supports Peek and Pop, part of 3D Touch capability the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus feature. One can use these features to get a quick preview of the latest news from a particular website.

The company also announced that Opera Mini for iOS has received an update. It is also getting support for Peek and Pop. Users will be able to hard press (aka 3D Touch) the Opera Mini icon and get a quick option to visit a website. Opera Mini for iOS now also features integrated Spotlight search, which will suggest your Speed Dial entries while you type, the company added.
