Spark is a popular email client for iPhone and iPad by Readdle, a software firm that makes other popular apps like Scanner Pro, Documents, PDF Expert, etc. The app was awarded ‘Best of the App Store 2015’ by Apple, according to its App Store description. Now, the company has released Spark for the Mac platform.

Compatible with major email providers like Google, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo and Microsoft Exchange, Spark for Mac brings over features that made the iOS app popular - such as the Smart Inbox, which categorises what it thinks are your important emails, personal stuff, newsletters etc. The app also supports natural language searches so you can find ‘Attachments from X person’ by simply typing so in the search bar. A Smart Notification Filter also avoids pushing notifications for every email you get, and only alerts you with important emails. Apart from these, it also has calendar integration, one-click quick email replies, and nicely designed threaded messaging.

Spark for Mac also lets you customise behaviour - for instance what action should be performed when you swipe over an email in a certain direction. You can also toggle between multiple signatures when sending an email. The Mac version also supports Touch Bar on the new MacBook Pro laptops. An Apple Watch app is also available for iPhone users, which makes this email client seamless in function if you own multiple products from the Apple ecosystem. Lastly, you can also snooze emails to be reminded of them at a later time.

You can download Spark for Mac from the Mac App Store.
