Nintendo's Super Mario Run mobile game has now received its first update since its Android debut last month as the company has updated the app on both Android and iOS to version 2.1.0. With this update, Nintendo has added Google Play achievements integration to the app for Android while Game Centre achievements have been integrated on iOS version of the game.

Super Mario Run v2.1.0 update, already available for download via both Google Play store and Apple's App Store, increases maximum number of Toads that can live in your kingdom to 99,999 and brings player icon improvements to the app on both Android and iOS. The iOS update adds new buildings, including the 8-bit Bowser Statue, Bullet Bill Statue, Bob-omb Statue, and more to the app.

Notably, with this update, Super Mario Run users will be able to find other users with the help of their Nintendo accounts.

Just last month, Nintendo acknowledged that the revenue from Super Mario Run did not meet company's expectations. Revenue from the game "did not meet our expectations," Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima told Asia Nikkei last month. As the game comes with a steep price of $10 on Apple's mobile platform, it doesn't come as a surprise that the company was not able to convince customers to pay-up in large numbers.
