WhatsApp launched its popular messaging service on desktops with WhatsApp Web in January. The service since has received minor tweaks and has maintained the Web UI looks familiar to the old WhatsApp mobile app UI.

Now, the company has finally added some much needed features from the mobile app to its Web interface. The new additions will now allow users on WhatsApp Web to manage conversations from the desktop itself. Users can notice options to archive or delete conversation option on the desktop app. Apart from the archive and delete options, users can also use mute feature in groups alongside managing conversation in a group chat. Additionally, users can now change or edit WhatsApp status or change the image.

WhatsApp Web's contact and group panes have also received small tweaks as there are new big red buttons to delete chats and exit groups. Unfortunately, there is no word whether the feature is being rolled out gradually or is still under test phase.

The updated WhatsApp Web interface was first reported by Android Police, which says the changes are 'server-triggered' and don't require any form of update to the mobile app.

WhatsApp launched the WhatsApp Web for desktop usage and was initially compatible with just Google Chrome. The company however in February added two more browsers - Firefox and Opera - that support the WhatsApp Web client.
