Zomato and Swiggy are facing an outage due to technical issues for some users in India. A number of users reported on Twitter that they were not able to order food from the apps due to the downtime. Some of the affected users also took to Twitter to report the issues. In some cases, both Zomato and Swiggy delayed the process of delivering orders that were made by users earlier on Wednesday. Exact reason behind why Zomato and Swiggy were down is yet to be revealed. While the apps have resumed working normally for some users, they are still down for others.

Some users also noted that the customer care service of both Zomato and Swiggy stopped responding to them amid the outage.

The official support accounts on Twitter for both Zomato and Swiggy confirmed the outage shortly after it was reported by some users. The issues surfaced due to technical constraints, the Swiggy's support account said while responding to a user.

According to the details available on downtime detecting site DownDetector.in, both Zomato and Swiggy started facing issues at around 1:48pm on Wednesday. The issues were resolved for some users soon after they were reported online.

Technical problems at the server-side of Amazon Web Services (AWS) are believed to be the reason behind the outage. However, the AWS Health Dashboard did not suggest any issues with its services at the time of filing this report.

That order came months after the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) requested the competition regulator to investigate the companies for breaching platform neutrality.
