Regalix, a digital marketing firm based in Palo Alto, California, will be the authorised licensee for Polaroid cameras in India. Commenting on the launch, which took place in Delhi, Sridharan Narayan, Vice President, Consumer Services, Regalix India Pvt. Ltd, said, "Taking a cue from the demand for action cameras in the country, Polaroid has decided to foray into the Indian market. The action camera market in the country is presently approximated at $16 million and growing at a 23 percent value."

According to Adarsh K. Menon, Vice President Electronics, Flipkart, the action photography category on the online shopping portal has been increasing steadily over the past few months. Polaroid hopes to capitalise on this momentum with its debut with the Cube camera and provide a more competitive solution to something like the GoPro range of action cameras.
