CP+ is gearing up to kick off in Japan at the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall in Tokyo on Thursday, but that hasn't prevented Sony from announcing a range of new cameras which will be making their debut at the event. Amongst the models that have been confirmed by the Japanese electronics firm, there are three super-zoom camera, two compact Cyber-shots and one mirrorless camera.

The Sony A6000 (aka Alpha 6000) mirrorless camera ($800, or roughly Rs. 49,673) boasts of an OLED viewfinder and a tilting 3-inch, 921K-dot LCD, pop-up flash, multi-interface shoe, 1080/60fps and 24fps video capture. It also features a 24.3-megapixel CMOS sensor paired with a BIONZ X processor, which Sony claims, enables the 'world's fastest autofocus' with a lag of 0.06 seconds.

The super zoom category boasts of the likes of the Sony HX400V (seen below), the H400 and the H300. The HX400V ($500, or roughly Rs. 31,045) has a 20.4-megapixel CMOS sensor, an f/2.8-6.3, 24-1200mm (50x) lens, 10 fps burst mode, 1080p HD video, GPS, Wi-Fi, NFC, the BIONZ X processor and the multi-interface shoe. The next is the Sony H400 ($320, or roughly Rs. 19,871) that has a 20.1-megapixel CCD sensor, an f/3.4-6.5, 24.5-1543mm (63x) lens with OIS, a 0.8 fps burst mode and 720p video capture. The Sony H300 ($200, or roughly Rs. 12,417) which runs on four AA batteries and has a 20.1-megapixel CCD sensor, akin to the H400. It has a f/3-5.9, 25-875mm (35x) lens with a 0.8 fps burst mode, and 720 fps video.

As far as the compacts are concerned the Sony Cyber-shot WX350 (seen below) ($320, or roughly Rs. 19,871) is the best bet with an 18.2-megapixel CMOS sensor, an f/3.5-6.5, 25-500mm (20x) G lens, a 10 fps burst mode, 1080fps video capture, Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. For those on a shoestring budget the Sony Cyber-shot W800 ($80, or roughly Rs. 4,967) is a good bargain. With a 20-megapixel CCD sensor, an f/3.2-6.4, 26-130mm (10x) lens, a 1 fps burst mode and 720p video capture. It will be available in March along with the others HX400V, H400 and WX350. The H300 will be available later in February and the Alpha 6000 will ship in April.
