About Downton Abbey Season 2 TV Series

The second series covers events from the Battle of the Somme, the Easter Rising, the Battle of Arras, the Russian Revolution, the Battle of Passchendaele, the Battle of Amiens, and the Battle of Vittorio Veneto, the Armistice in 1918, and the Spanish flu epidemic.

Both men and women of Downton do their part on the front lines and on the domestic front which brings a serious shortage of able-bodied men for home front jobs.

Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens) and Thomas Barrow (Rob James-Collier) are off fighting in the battle; Tom Branson (Allen Leech), an Irishman and former chauffeur is yet to decide whether he wants to fight for Britain.
