Justice League – the awaited mash-up of DC's mightiest heroes, out next Friday – will have a post-credits scene, Aquaman actor Jason Momoa has revealed in an interview. That puts it in a unique position, given only one of the four previous DC films (the dumpster fire Suicide Squad) opted for that addition.

In an interview with BBC's Radio 2, host Ore Oduba asked Momoa if fans should wait through the entire runtime of the film (it starts at 06:54, if you want to listen for yourself), to which he replied: "They do. You’ve gotta sit through the whole thing. Go through the credits."

Though Momoa initially refused to add why, Oduba's further pressing of the matter prompted him to add: "Listen, I walked out with my kids. And everyone was like, ‘Ooh, ooh, ooh!’ and I had to run back in because I forgot that it was in the script."

That more or less confirms that Justice League has an additional scene during the credits, though we don't know what it's about. We won't have to wait long though, with the superhero film out November 17.

Mid- and post-credits scenes have usually been a staple of Marvel's, which started with Iron Man and hasn't stopped since. Warner Bros. and DC have opted to take the opposite route with most releases – Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Wonder Woman – with the only exception being Suicide Squad, which featured Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne.

And judging by the trailers, the post-credits scene isn't the only thing DC is borrowing from Marvel. With DC's grim and serious approach failing to produce results, Justice League seems to be shifting towards a lighter, more fun tone.

It worked for Wonder Woman, but the DC get-together has had its share of problems: multiple, expensive reshoots, a change of director, and studio pressure to keep the runtime under two hours.
