About X2 Movie (2003)

Anti-mutant Colonel William Stryker (Brian Cox), a military scientist and a villainous former Army commander, has experimented on Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) in the past and holds a connection with the future of X-Men.

Stryker kidnaps Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), and attacks his mansion and school, later imprisoning his students and stealing the Cerebro device used to track and locate mutants across the world.

Magneto (Ian McKellen) escapes from his plastic cell, and proposes Xavier, the X-Men, and the newcomer German mutant, Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming), join hands to stop Stryker and save the mutant race.

The plot of the movie is inspired by the graphic novel "X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills" by Chris Claremont and Brent Anderson.
