Idea Cellular is primarily a mobile service operator, but it does sell handsets with the intention of promoting 3G data usage In India. There are of course benefits if you're an Idea subscriber, but the phones are not locked to the company's own network and can be bought freely and used by anyone.

Idea Ultra+ Summary

With fierce competition in the sub-Rs. 10,000 market, it's inevitable that some phones will stand out and some will just be also-rans. The Idea Ultra+ is in the latter category, thanks to its perfectly ordinary specifications and features. You can pick it up if you like its looks or if Idea's smartphone tariff bundles work for you, but otherwise chances are you'd be better served by the Asus Zenfone 4, Motorola Moto E, Xiaomi Redmi 1S, or any other more recent launch.
