HP Omen 15, Omen 17 Gaming Laptops Refreshed in India, Starting Rs. 80,990

HP on Monday expanded its range of Omen gaming notebooks in India with the new Omen 15 and Omen 17 models. The new Windows 10-powered lineup has GeForce GTX 10-Series graphics from Nvidia and single-access service panel to let users upgrade RAM, HDD, and SSD storage. The Omen 15 range starts at Rs. 80,990, while the Omen 17 is available in the country with a starting price of Rs. 1,59,990. Every new Omen notebook comes bundled with the Omen gaming backpack worth Rs. 5,040.

The HP Omen 15 range includes CE070TX, CE071TX, CE072TX, CE073TX, and CE074TX models. Its base version is powered by a seventh-generation Intel Core i5-7300HQ clocked at 2.5GHz, with 8GB of DDR4 RAM (upgradable to 16GB), 1TB Serial ATA HDD, and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 with 2GB GDDR5 video RAM apart from DirectX 12 support. The top-end version, on the other hand, has a seventh-generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ clocked at 2.8GHz, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 1TB Serial ATA HDD, as well as 128GB NVMe TLC M.2 SSD, and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB GDDR5 video RAM. The base model in the Omen 15 series has a 15.6-inch LED backlit display with 1920x1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution and colour gamut of 45 percent, while the top model sports a 15.6-inch LED backlit display with 3840x2160 pixels (UHD) resolution and colour gamut of 72 percent.

On the other hand, HP Omen 17 range comes in AN009TX and AN010 TX models. Both models have a 17.3-inch LED backlit display with 1920x1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution and colour gamut of 72 percent, and are powered by seventh-generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ at 2.8GHz clock speed and 16GB of DDR4 RAM (upgradable to 32GB). The 17-inch models have 1TB of Serial ATA HDD and 256GB of NVMe TLC M.2 SSD. The Omen 17 AN009TX has Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics with 8GB of GDDR5 video RAM, whereas the AN010TX model has an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB of GDDR5 video RAM.

All the new HP Omen notebook models feature a dragon red backlit island-style keyboard with numeric keypad and special highlight for WASD keys, and multi-touch gesture supported HP ImagePad. The notebooks have Bang & Olufsen audio with HP's proprietary Audio Boost 2.0 with a discrete amplifier. Also, HP has provided VR-ready support and DTS Headphone:X for an enhanced 360-degree gaming experience.

Alongside the new notebooks, HP has launched the Omen By HP Mouse 600 that has an ergonomic right-hand design and rubber grips. The mouse has a full range of DPI levels, between 800 and 12,000, as well as a new optical sensor specifically designed for e-sports. It is touted to have optimised mechanical switches that can withstand the pressure of up to 50 million clicks.

HP has also brought Omen by HP Headset 800 that has 53mm driver and a retractable earphone. The headphones have universal compatibility with 3.5mm-to-single 4 pole adapter.

The Omen Mouse 600 is available for Rs. 4,999, while the Omen 800 Headset is priced at Rs. 6,999.

With our reinvention of the Omen notebook portfolio - from design, form-factor, engineering, and performance - we are helping them compete at the highest level," said Anurag Arora, head of consumer personal systems, HP India, in a press statement.

HP India is additionally planning to bring its Omen X range to the country sometime in the first quarter next year. The first Omen X-branded notebook with GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card was debuted in August.
