Voice-based virtual assistants have been improving at a remarkable speed in past two years and now Microsoft's Cortana has a new feature that might earn it some bragging rights. With the Windows 10 Creators Update, rolling out starting Tuesday, Cortana will allow users to set up Windows 10 using just their voice. While adding the privacy options to the setup process was a necessity of sorts for the Redmond-based company, this new addition might make the setup process much more convenient for users.

While clean installing the Windows 10 Creators Update, users now get the option to set up their Windows 10 experience using just their voice with help of company's Cortana digital assistant, The Verge points out. Cortana will help users connect to the Wi-Fi network, keyboard options, and even sign into their Microsoft account, as per the report.

Notably, this is not a mandatory choice for the users as they can choose to mute Cortana at any point and complete the process using mouse and keyboard, just like it is done for any other platform. Considering how comfortable this new method can prove to be, we can imagine many users opting for it to complete the otherwise tedious process of setting up Windows.

However, as we have seen in past, digital assistants can also prove to be frustrating when they fail to recognise and interpret user's voice correctly. In any case, this additional choice for the setup process can definitely be seen as one step in the direction of future where most things will be controlled using just voice instructions. Let us know in comments down below if you find the new choice to be a useful addition or just a gimmick.
