Google acquired Motorola Mobility about nine months ago and it was expected that the company would be coming out with some exciting products soon. However, it now seems that one will have to wait a wee bit longer to see innovative products being rolled out by Motorola.

Commenting on Motorola's upcoming line-up, Google's Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President Patrick Pichette, said, "[they are] not really to the standards that what Google would say is wow - innovative, transformative." Pichette made the remark at a session at the Morgan Stanley Technology Conference.

As per Verge, he further went on to state, "We've inherited 18 months of pipeline that we actually have to drain right now, while we're actually building the next wave of innovation and product lines. We have to go through this transition. These are not easy transitions."

In the past, there have been rumours regarding Motorola building the X-phone, which is being touted as the first smartphone to be launched with Android Key Lime Pie or Android 5.0. The other rumours suggest that the Motorola X-phone will feature a 5-inch edge-to-edge display with no bezel. But there seem to be no signs of that coming true.

A couple of days earlier, Hiroshi Lockheimer, Vice President of engineering for Android at Google, had made a remark that Motorola and Google are separate companies and there is almost like a wall between them. As per this statement, what Lockheimer also implied was that Google's relationship with Motorola is similar to what the company has with its other manufacturing partners such as Huawei, LG, Samsung, HTC etc.

However, it seems like Google is looking to make the transition at a rapid pace. The search engine giant has now roped in former Apple evangelist Guy Kawasaki. Kawasaki will be focussing on product design, user interface, marketing and social media at Google and is expected to fuse in some enthusiasm in the Motorola brand.
