Highlights
  • Google has launched a user research programme
  • The programme calls individuals to be a part of research studies
  • It is aimed to enhance the user experience

Aiming to enhance the user experience, Google has launched a new programme that will bring together a number of users who'll test new services, products, and Android features before their public release. The programme, called Google User Research Experience, will also give participants incentives and rewards. Google is also set to bring research vans that will showcase various unreleased offerings to build new studies from various locations - at least around the US initially.

To participate in the Google User Experience Research, you need to complete an initial survey and then you'll receive a questionnaire that will help the research team match you to particular studies. Participants will be invited to take part in a study either by visiting a nearby Google office, research van, or remotely through their desktop or mobile devices. Google will also send researchers to the home or office locations of the participants in some cases for the studies.

Google will reward participants with gift cards and donations to their favourite charities. It is worth pointing out here that to participate in the Google User Experience Research programme, you don't need to be a Google user or computer expert. Also, there will be different study types, including usability study at a Google office, remote usability study, experimental sampling study, field study, and surveys. The prime objective of all these study types to improve the existing user experience and build the future of Android and various other Google products and services.
