HTC One X users have something to cheer about. The Taiwanese manufacturer plans to roll out a Jelly Bean update for the smartphone next month, reports MoDaCo.

The site mentions that non-carrier branded models will be first to receive the update with carrier locked models to follow suit. MoDaCo says assuming that both Google and operators give a go ahead for the update, all HTC One X units should carry Jelly bean by Christmas.

MoDaCo also confirms that the HTC One X+ will ship with Jelly bean on-board and so will the HTC One XL, the first 4G handset made available with the Everything Everywhere network or EE, as it is now known. The One XL should be arriving in the coming few months.

HTC earlier confirmed the update in July (https://www.gadgets360.com/mobiles/news/htc-confirms-jelly-bean-update-for-one-x-one-s-246472), along with the One S and One XL as well. With two of the three smartphones receiving the update, we hope users of the HTC One S will soon hear some good news.

The HTC One X is the company's latest flagship device. But HTC is also planning to launch a successor to the smartphone. Specifications of the HTC One X+ were recently leaked by a Twitter user. More details of the smartphone were expected at the September 19 event hosted by the company in new York. But the company had other plans instead. At the event HTC launched two new Windows Phone 8 devices, the HTC 8X and HTC 8S.
