It seems like Huawei is preparing to introduce a new mid-range smartphone, dubbed the Ascend G6, apart from a high-end phablet, the MediaPad X1. The yet-to-be-announced devices have allegedly appeared in some press render images and live shots.

The purported images of the expected Ascend G6 smartphone comes via @evleaks, the serial tipster, via a Twitter post, which shows the handset in five colour variants - Blue, Gold, Pink, White and Black (seen above).

The Huawei Ascend G6 seemingly sports a sleek profile, is rumoured to run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and is said to feature a 4.5-inch screen. The device is expected to be powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, paired with 1GB of RAM. The Ascend G6 is said to sport a microSD card expansion slot for augmenting built-in storage, and an 8-megapixel rear camera, coupled with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Huawei is also expected to reveal its Ascend G6 in the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2014 event as a teaser hinting three devices along with the MWC event date (23 February) was revealed couple of days ago.

As we mentioned above, the Chinese smartphone maker may also unveil a phablet at MWC, the MediaPad X1, which passed its Tenaa certification earlier this month. Reports suggest that it is powered by a HiSilicon 910 Kirin chipset (1.6GHz quad-core, Mali 450 GPU, 2GB of RAM) and will be running the older (surprisingly) version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on it. Some of the purported live shots of the Huawei MediaPad X1 can be seen below.

New reports indicates the yet-to-be-announced MediaPad X1 phablet will feature a 7-inch screen with a high 1200 x 1920 pixel resolution, LTE connectivity, 16GB/32GB built-in storage variants, and a 6,000mAh battery. The device is might also be priced somewhere around 1200 yuan (approximately Rs. 12,000).
