Huawei without generating much hype announced a new smartphone, the Honor 4 Play, at an event on Monday. Priced at a budget CNY 799 (roughly Rs. 7,921), the Huawei Honor 4 Play seems to be only available in China for now, with no word on its global release.

The smartphone, though priced low, features a 64-bit processor, which is seen in several high-end smartphones like iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S5 (Review), HTC Desire 820 and more. However, the trend is slowly moving to incorporate 64-bit processors in lower-end phones, with such examples as the HTC Desire 510 and Lenovo A805e.

The new chipset is a considerable upgrade from the Huawei Honor 3C Play's 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 MediaTek (MTK6582) processor. The Honor 4 Play features a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor, coupled with an Adreno 306 GPU (320MHz) and 1GB of RAM.
