Kult 10 With 4G Support, 5-Inch Display Launched at Rs. 7,999

In the market for an affordable smartphone? You might want to check Kult's offering. The telecom brand in partnership with Wistron on Tuesday launched its first smartphone in India. Called 10, the handset offers 4G LTE connectivity, dual-SIM support, and a 5-inch HD display.

The Kult 10 sports a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display with a layer of Asahi's Dragontrail glass. It is powered by Qualcomm's 64-bit capable quad-core SoC (unspecified chipset) with 3GB of RAM. On the storage front, there's 16GB of internal memory, and users can add up to 128GB of additional storage using a microSD card.

Other features of the Kult 10 include a 13-megapixel rear-camera with anti-shake, face detection, manual focus, exposure controls, smile and gesture capture features, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, and a 2350mAh battery with support for fast charging. The handset runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, though the company claims it is upgradeable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow - without providing a firm timeline.

The dual-SIM (Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM cards) capable Kult 10 supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, and other standard connectivity features. The handset is available for sale on e-commerce website Snapdeal at a price point of Rs. 7,999 starting Tuesday.

Eyeing the growing affordable smartphone market, Kult plans to launch a range of other products in the coming quarters. As for the after sales service, Kult says it has partnered with more than 500 service centres.

Commenting on the launch, Nitesh Gupta, founder of Kult, said, "We are witnessing a tremendous shift in consumer behaviour. The inception of the brand Kult has been to leverage technology to make for a simpler yet powerful consumer experience. 10 (Ten) by Kult is designed for a user who aspires for a hyper connected lifestyle while demanding technologies with a simple design and intuitive interface. It is designed to empower today's consumer to have a superior digital experience."
