It has become a trend among smartphone manufacturers to make a mini-variant of their flagship smartphones. Trendsetting players like Samsung, Sony and HTC have already released such mini-variants for their flagships, and now it seems LG has joined in, with rumours of it developing a mini-variant of its popular flagship the LG G2.

We have heard about the variant earlier in reports, this time around, the proposed mini-variant of the LG G2 has been purportedly spotted at the Bluetooth Special Interest Group's (Bluetooth SIG) certification site, with a codename LG D620. The leaked listing was accompanied by some specifications, including mention of a resolution of 540x960 (qHD) pixels.

Although there are no details of the camera revealed in any of the previous leaks, Phonearena claims the device will pack an 8-megapixel camera on the back, based on information was given to them by an LG insider. The report also specifies the different resolutions camera will offer: 1280 x 960, 2560 x 1920, 3200 x 1920 and 3264 x 2448.

A qHD resolution for the display certainly puts the yet-to-be-announced LG G2 mini way down in performance list, and we expect that if true, the device won't sport a display much bigger than a 4.3-inch one. The rumoured LG G2 mini is also unlikely to sport the same top-end Snapdragon 800 chipset or 2GB of RAM the original G2 did. The latest reports certainly do contradict previous rumours.

The rumoured LG G2 mini was in December reportedly spotted in benchmark listing which sugested that the alleged mini-variant of the flagship will feature a 4.7-inch display. The alleged LG G2 mini was also expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 800 chipset, the same seen on the LG G2 and the similar 2GB of RAM.

It is powered by Qualcomm's quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor that's clocked at 2.26GHz. The device comes with 2GB of RAM and offers 16GB and 32GB storage options.

The LG G2 sports a 13.0-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilisation and a 2.1-megapixel front shooter. LG's latest flagship runs Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. The LG G2 sports dimension of 138.5x70.9x8.9mm, weighs 143 grams.
