Motorola's partnership with Intel finally bears fruit with the company announcing it's first Intel powered smartphone, the RAZR i at an event in London.

Sporting looks similar to the RAZR M, the RAZR i will feature a 2GHz single-core Intel processor, which makes it the first smartphone to hit those speeds. Intel claims though single-core, the processor will be faster than other dual-core phones.

The RAZR i sports a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced edge-to-edge display with a 960x540 pixel resolution. It is 8.3mm thick, weighs 126g and is powered by a 2000mAh battery, claiming up to 20 hours of mixed usage time. Speaking of design, the smartphone has an aluminium frame and a Kevlar back panel.

The highlight of the phone seems to be its 8MP camera which offers up to 10 shots a second and takes a mere second to start up. The device is also capable of 1080p HD video recording.

The smartphone will come with Android 4.0 on-board, which is strange considering Jelly Bean is already here. But the company has said that it will be upgraded soon. The RAZR i boasts NFC capabilities and Android Beam.

Motorola has made its own software additions including SMARTACTIONS which will trigger specific apps and the interactive Circles Widget that allows quick access to notifications, weather, time and more.

The Motorola Razr i is scheduled for an early October release in the UK, France, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico partnering with major carriers including  Orange, T-Mobile, Phones4U, Virgin Media and Tesco. There is no official word on the pricing of the RAZR i yet.
