Samsung has lately been pushing out Android 5.0 Lollipop updates for various high-end Galaxy-series handsets. Samsung's support page has now tipped that the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update is planned for more devices including the Galaxy Alpha, the company's first metal-clad smartphone.

Additionally, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is also listed to reach the mid-range Galaxy S5 mini alongside the Galaxy Note II.

Samsung's Finland and Denmark support pages (via GSMArena) list upcoming Android software updates for several Galaxy range smartphones. Apart from the above mentioned three handsets, the list also includes the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, and Galaxy Note 4, all of which received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update recently. Unfortunately, the official support page listing doesn't include any time-frame for the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update for the listed handsets.

It's worth noting that Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 mini was earlier tipped by Samsung France. The company had suggested that the Android update will start rolling out in the second quarter of 2015. The company's France chapter this week said the update was due soon.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II, on the other hand, was also confirmed to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update last month by Samsung Poland.

Last week, Samsung France revealed that the Galaxy Note 3's lite variant, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, would receive Android 5.0 Lollipop this year. Unfortunately, the South Korean giant did not reveal a time-frame for the release of the Android Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo.

To recall, Samsung Galaxy Alpha was launched last year in August and ran Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It was launched in India at Rs. 39,990 in September.

It features a 4.7-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) Super Amoled display and sports a sleek profile with dimensions 132.4x65.5x6.7mm and weighs 115 grams. The Galaxy Alpha is powered by an octa-core chipset with quad-core 1.8GHz and quad-core 1.3GHz. The smartphone also comes in a quad-core variant with a clock speed of 2.5GHz. It features 2GB of RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage that is non-expandable. It sports a 12-megapixel rear camera and also includes 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. It packs an 1860mAh battery.
