Sony is said to be working on a new flagship smartphone, which has been codenamed 'Honami'. It is rumoured that this smartphone will be launched as Xperia 1i and come with 20-megapixel camera with Xenon flash and interchangeable lenses.

Now, a Brazilian website, TechTudo, has posted alleged pictures of this smartphone. In one of the pictures, Sony Honami smartphone is placed in between Sony Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia ZQ (Brazil version of Sony Xperia SP).

In these images, Honami looks akin to the Sony Xperia Z but appears to come with an infra-red sensor. It also appears that the back case of the smartphone may not be made of glass but of metal. Given that Honami is alleged to come with a 20-megapixel camera, we were expecting to see a hump at the back but that is surprisingly missing.

There is no word on when Sony will be unveiling this smartphone, but the company is hosting a media event on July 4 in Paris.

The other rumoured specifications of Sony Honami aka Xperia 1i include 5-inch display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. The smartphone is said to be powered by the quad-core Snapdragon MSM8974 processor clocked at 2.3GHz along with 2GB of RAM. The phone will allegedly have 32GB of internal storage with a microSD slot for expansion.

It is also tipped that the powerful rear camera will be accompanied by a 2.2-megapixel Exmor R front camera capable of taking 1080p video.

All this hardware will be backed by a 3,000mAh battery with an additional STAMINA mode, similar to the power saving mode on current Sony smartphones. The device is expected to run Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) and will also have an IR, NFC, One Touch Sharing, Wi-Fi Miracast and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.
