Was looking for mid range gaming laptop. Choice was Acer nitro 5 and this. (Same config just with windows). Bought this and turn out to be good choice. Body design - Catchy and sturdy Back-lit keyboard - Steelseries single color (spectral in other MSI series) GTX 1050 always better than 900 series Cooler booster maintains temperature during long hours Cons - will update as i come across.

I'm using this laptop from last 1 week and here's the review #display quality is not very good but colour reflation is very good and viewing angle is very good (7/10) #laptops performance is very good not heating problem (8/10) # you can play heavy games like (GTA V,assassin creed origind etc). Upto 60 FPS in high setting(9/10) #battry backup is not good if you run havy programs like games, video editing battery won't work more then 30 minutes but in normal usage it works 2 to 2.5 hours (6/10) #clock speed is 2.5 GHz not 3.5

after using 4days it seems everything is fine except the battery backup( hardly 1hr when playing )...GTA v , Andromeda, far cry 5 etc can play in very high/ ultra ... ac origin , pubg is good with middle.. great cooling system.

The MSI GV62 7RD is the latest entry level gaming laptop from MSI. You get the same Intel Core i5-7300HQ processor we have seen all other gaming laptops this year along with the best entry level gaming GPU at the moment, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 . While MSI here has adhered to the standard gaming hardware specifications here, the whole exterior of the laptop looks somewhat minimal. There is little to talk about the design, MSI has kept things relatively understated compared to what I have seen from the company previously. A lot of this might have to do with the fact that this is a relatively lightweight gaming laptop, which does restrict the company from going all out on the design front. At 2.2Kgs, the MSI GV62 7RD is a good 300-400 grams lighter than the category average. However, this light gaming laptop is pretty heavy when it comes to gaming performance. The machine can easily run games like Doom on ultra settings at around 60fps at an average. Graphic intensive titles such as Battlefield 1 run steadily above 40 fps on the 1080p display at ultra settings, that too with DX12 and HDR support on. While the performance is good, the 15.6-inch 1080p display is not the best out there for content other than gaming. The machine is using a wide view TN panel, which does have decent viewing angles horizontally, but has serious colour shifting issue when seen vertically. What is impressive though is the cooling, the laptop goes into turbo mode while gaming, spinning the fans at almost 6400rpm. This keeps the CPU and GPU cool and I never saw any major throttling issues during my testing period. However, with such top shelf hardware packed in this laptop, the battery life is not great, as is the case with most gaming laptops today. I got not more than 2 and half hours of battery life from this laptop as a best case scenario. Overall, I think the MSI GV62 7RD adds another option for the gaming community who are looking to buy an all-in-one laptop for gaming and other tasks alike. I bought this laptop at 49k on sale and Flipkart delivered it to me in 3 days. I've used this laptop for one day and here's my review of it so far- Pros- The display is very good - The backlit keyboard is stunning and great to use for gaming - Played Fortnite on this at mid-high settings and gives good FPS, no lag whatsoever. - No signs of overheating at all played for 3 hours non stop the temperatures climbed up a bit that's it. Cons- The touchpad is an issue while gaming even when disabled random touches on it will distort your game a bit which is not great. (Update- After the Windows 10 update this issue was fixed) - The battery life isn't the greatest but since it's a gaming laptop that's understandable. - The response time can be laggy at times if many apps are running. Overall it's a great purchase for the value it provides. Be it gaming or casual use this checks all the boxes.

Got this laptop for 56k its a gaming beast. Product is nicely packed. MSI packaging is absolutely awesome. BUILD QUALITY Its a plastic build. Lid is a fingerprint magnet. With MSI logo on lid it demands respect from others. DISPLAY This laptop comes with TN anti glare panel, with 1080p screen. Colours are accurate. Horizontal viewing is not a issue, but you can notice colour change with change in vertical viewing angle. TOUCHPAD AND KEYBOARD Touchpad is big, keys are little hard to press. Once I updated drivers with windows precision drivers, it works really smooth supporting windows gestures. Keyboard is red backlit with three levels of brightness. Feels really good to type and game on it. Keys are spacious, big including direction arrows, unlike other laptops where up and down arrows are not spaced properly. Lot of shortcuts keys are there which are handy. SOFTWARE Laptop is initially loaded with DOS operating system. I updated with windows 10, works fine. But there is an issue, disk usage is almost 100 percent most of the time, which slows down the laptop. Drivers are preloaded which you can install when you install your preferred OS. This laptop has MSI Dragon Centre, where you can monitor fan speeds, temperatures, disk, CPU, GPU usage. You can also change fan speed, power options, RGB values. You can also control these setting using mobile app. SOUND This laptops supports installation of nahimic 2+ which can be downloaded from MSI official website. Front firing stereo speakers is really good, which is placed below keyboard. Sound quality is really good, but I would have liked more volume as the sound doesn't fill the room. COOLING MSI has dedicated cooling fans for CPU, GPU. It heats after long gaming sessions but cools down easily thanks to their cooling system. It also has dedicated button for turbo boost cooling. PORTS This laptop has 1 x USB 2.0, 2 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 3.0 Type C, 1 x HDMI Port, 3-in-1 Card Reader (SD, SDHC, SDXC). which are spaced really well. WEIGHT This laptop weighs 2.2 kg, its lighter when compared to other laptops in this range where they weigh 2.6 kgs. MEMORY It contains 8 GB of ram which can be expanded up to 32 GB. It contains 1 TB HDD, SDD can be added later on. BATTERY LIFE The battery life is not great, as is the case with most gaming laptops today. I got not more than 2 and half hours of battery life from this laptop as a best case scenario. GAMING I tried FIFA 17, Far cry 3, Call of duty Ghosts. They give very good framerate with no lags. Most of the AAA titles will breeze through with medium to high settings. This laptop is a beast you will never regret buying this.

Powerful Laptop. Tested its rendering capabilities on Autodesk Maya and Autodesk Inventor and gave and gave fast performance in 1080p rendering and simulation, and slow performance when rendering with Maya paint effects. Overclocking abilities give a good VR experience even though GTX 1050 is not supposed to be VR ready for heavy games. With appropriate OC you will get fps nearly at par with a non-OC GTX 1050TI at max performance. The only thing it is short of is the number of CUDA cores, but owing to the price, it would not be feasible to expect many CUDA cores. Have some concerns about the durability of the body. It is a bit weak and should have been better. Hence you'll need to be careful while travelling. It turned out to be a better choice than the i7 version of gv62 as at 100% cpu usage while rendering it heats up to 85 C while 7700HQ reaches 95 C with same task. Further it has a better battery life than i7 version by about an hour.
