  • Not at all worth for the price I paid for this mobile....:( :(
Manisha Korpe (Feb 10, 2016) on Gadgets 360
I have a very bad experience with oppo find 5 mini...it's not at all worth for the price i paid...Very slow processing, not user friendly, many of the functions are implemented properly...within 6 months started giving problems..first with SD Card. I was not able to use phone with SD card otherwise it was giving error message to restart or reboot system..Screen broken just because normal felt down from my hand. Contacts are not loading whenever I want to get contacts from the list. Wasted my money for this phone...:(

  • not bad at that price range!!
Saswat (Nov 1, 2011) on Flipkart
The A85 is the cheapest dual core phone out there. And thats what I like about it.And you surely cant expect it to be priced at 13-14k.Guys,its a dual core processor phone, like the optimus 2x,the samsung galaxy s2 & the htc sensation.and they all cost between 25 to 30k.so compared to those phones, its really cheap !! Surely its downside is froyo, but micromax promises the gingerbread update in november,so we should wait till that!! Every android phone can be flashed and the software can be updated.so its not that big a deal that it has froyo. if you have internet at home and follow proper steps, you can update the software within 10 minutes. Overall this dual core phone at 18k is a good deal if not great

To start....one Liner for A85......"Specification and performance are two different things" I would like to tell that I also own Micromax A70 a great phone, which tempted me to buy A85. But for me Micromax couldnot continue the success or rather impressive story with A85. One special advice for budget phone users, like me, "being able to do more not always proves a better deal". To continue , here are some positives: 1)1 GB dual core Nvidia(can do any and everything): From Skype videocalling to playing HD videos or playing Flash content, it is a small task for Monster processor. 2)Enough internal memory(8gb) although not all can be used to store apps(around 370 mb can be used). Enough memory to download any app and use without bothering to think of "Low on Memory" message. 3)5MP camera: which takes decent rather good photographs in GOOD LIGHTING CONDITIONS. 4)As Fast as you can think thanks to 512 mb RAM + monster(processor). 5)BIGGGGG SCREEN:3.8 inch clear So you may think looking at above specs that this is the one for you, but wait, you have seen only the half movie. PERFORMANCE(The down side): 1)Battery Life: To say the least i charged my mobile til 11:30 pm(100%),put my phone on airplane mode(to save battery),woke up in the morning to find only 33% battery. I decided to put my phone on airplane mode because last night(one night before) i charged my phone upto 80%, and in the morning 6:30 i found my phone switched off.To add to it when i am not using the phone it is definitely charging.remaing. A sure no for the device for the people who travel a lot and cannot find chargering points every 8-10 hrs(Maximum). But if you use two phone one for calling and other separate one for web surfing ,gaming, etc then you can go with it. 2)Display: Display is clear and sharp but i feel it lacks colors to be a great display. I feel A70 has a much better, comparably great display than A85.Screen of A85 appears pale and less bright when compared to A70. You almost have to put your phone on brightness level 1 minimum to see clearly. A70's brightness level 0 was as good as brightness level 1 of A85. I no where found the actual specification in terms of number of colors in A85 screen. But this is what i feel and this dissapoints me. 3)In between speedy performance phone just shutsdown at times. If you are a heavy smartphone user, you may find this happing to you twice daily. This may happen in between games or while you are watching live stream on internet. So you are not sure while boasting to your friends about your phone capabilties that whether it will actually work when you show it to your friend. 4) Android 2.2 has not much of a disadvantage for me (may be because i have not used 2.3) but one thing that i lack is 3g only mode. So if you are planning to use your mobile as modem by tethering and stuck in zone where 3g signals are week(my condition), phone will keep changing from 3g to 2g and vice versa giving you a lot of trouble. 5)Another let down are capacitive tough buttons which are not backlit, neither too sensite to compensate. 6)No direct video calling on 3g network. So to end this review i would say that decision to buy A85 or not is like deciding to choose between Sehwag and Dravid. A85 is a Sehwag, you never know anyhting is possible, but other phone around 12k-13k in market are like Dravid, they have less limited capabilties but assure you of a worthy performance.Decision is truly yours. A85 can do everything for you but cannot assure you a good perforamance. Thanks for reading.

Its getting monotonous. I go with the other user who posted on 14th December. Most of the folks here say the same thing again and again. Also this hatred is directed toward the brand than the product. Not many who posted here have bought the phone, and sad that those who bought aren't talking. My 2 reason against this phone: 1. No developer support on XDA/Cyanogenmod. So no new port of future OS (unless micromax releases them) 2. Optimus 2x rates have come down to 19,990. For Rs.500 more, I get 2 better cameras, LG support, community support and Cyanogen releases. Most reviews and comments on here were useless. I am giving this phone a 5* to offset for all the poor ratings !!

  • Most Advance Micromax Phone - I agree With Sachin Tiwari
Arun Rathod (Nov 1, 2011) on Flipkart
Hi Friends, This is one of the best mobile with the feature in the market. Its the most and the best value for money Dual Core Phone. I would not talk a lot about the feature because any one who have little bit of real knowledge of the android features than he will never complain about it. And the only important thing I want to tell all of you is that "AT LEAST LOOK AT THE PRICE WHEN YOU SAY SOMETHING." Ultimately, its the price that WE WILL HAVE TO PAY if we want any of the mobile in our hand. Our words will just do nothing without money. Search the same site (flipkart), and just look at the Dual Core android phones available and you will see that out of total 9 android phones, there are only 9 results available in which only 3 companies Samsung, HTC and LG are there apart from Micromax. There is No Sony Ericsson, No Dell, No Acer, No Spice, No Karbonn, No Motorola, No Huawei and nothing. And then look at the price segment. The lowest of all dual core phone is LG Optimus 2X which is priced at 23450 (25450 - 2000(cashback)). And now compare it with Micromax. The price difference is 23450-18990=4460. Now I think, there no need to complain about anything. Now the scenario MUST BE PRETTY CLEAR in you mind. And still someone cannot see this, than I think it to be blind. Again, those who are complaining about Battery and Android Version, than you need to compare LG Optimus 2X and Micromax Superfone A85, and than you will see that both are having same Android 2.2 and 1500 mAh battery. Here is more comparison Feature LG Micromax Ahead OS Android 2.2 Android 2.2 Same Processor 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9, Dual Core Same Battery 1500 mAh 1500 mAh Same Memory 6.4 GB 8 GB Micromax Cash 23450 18990 Micromax Camera 8 MP 5 MP LG Pixel Count Less More Micromax Operating Freq Dual Band GSM Quad Band GSM Micromax Video Player More Codec Less Codec LG Gesture Control No Yes Micromax Look at the above spec and than decide. If you dont know about gesture control than you need to look at the igyaan.in micromax hands on video and believe me man :YOU GONNA LOVE IT: And the last thing, keep in mind that this is the initial price of the phone like. As all the phone are launched with the original price and than reduced later, the same way this price is also going to reduce later. Samsung Galaxy S II was launched with 30000 and now its 28500. LG Optimus 2X was 25450 and now its 23450. And if you are regular customer of Flipkart and keep on visiting the site, than you would already know that most of the mobiles price keeps on decreasing on time. Just wait 1 or 2 month and the price will come down. All right, I will have to sign out now coz I dont want to write thesis on this topic. So I think this is more than enough now. With Love, Arun Rathod

  • The Best Smartphone for Indian Markets.
Vikram Reddy (Nov 1, 2011) on Flipkart
This is a very good phone. Totally brilliant. Micromax you finally got it right. So it doesn't mean that this phone is perfect, there are a few cons which can be rectified and i hope Micromax does it. CONS 1.Very poor battery life The phone is 13.8mm thick! A bigger battery would have solved this problem. But its ok as it runs on a 1500mah battery which can be revamped to increase the battery life. 2.Gesture Controls This actually cannot be called as a con :P it is a very good innovation which needs more development which can again be done through an update. 3.Android Version As Android is open source, any one can get. Android 2.2 isnt bad but should have shipped with 2.3 but anyways an update is promised my Micromax to come in Dec. 4.LED Flash 5mp auto focus camera recording 720p is not good but AWESOME!! would have been great if an flash was provided. that is all i could find. Hope you found my review usefull.

  • Cannot Agree with Negative Reviews
Utsuk Shah (Dec 1, 2011) on Flipkart
This is a very good phone from Micromax and a step ahead from their lower range Android Phones.. -Overpriced?? Certainly not. This is a dual core android phone and is similarly priced to the Lowest dual core phone , optimus 2x. -Crying over 2.2?? 2.3 update is coming this December. And has all the specs required to run 4.0.So we can expect for that to come too.. -No Flash- According to the iGyaan review the exposure settings are really good and can make up for flash at a few places... Anyway even the Galaxy S II does not have flash! But no no cries over that! a very nice cam with intellegent illumination features -1500mAmp battery is decent enough for everyday use.. -The lock screen is also good slightly similar to HTC sense 3.0 -Build quiality is quite good with a metal back cover..(Unlike the full plastic construction of the S II. -Quadrant benchmark - 2076 quite impressive with a few apps and gesture control on.. -Gesture Control- Quite nice especially if you have dirty hand and gotta do something on the phone.. It is really good but Micromax has to slightly work on that for better results... For example- While playing music if you want to pause it just put your hand over the phone and pull it back and same to play it again . Move your hand right to move to the next song and left for the prev song.. -According to iGyaan video quality is at 58.7 Fps which is almost 60.. -Preinstalled Apps are very good although few of them are not that required.. -It has a tegra 2 processor which is used in tablets... - A very loud loudspeaker -Build quality is good certainly better than galaxy s II All Micromax should have done to attract customers considering its brand image is that kept it lower priced by 1k or 2k... PS- I have not personally used this device but I am saying all this according to the iGyaan video..So do not know much about its flaws Just saw all the negative reviews and thought it was quite unfair ...

I think if it has to be called as a high end mobile, it should have a LED Flash if not dual led flash. and Battery should be min 1800 MAH. The Primary CaM 5 mp goes useless for taking photos in low light

Sankara Subramanian (Nov 1, 2011) on Flipkart
Hi, I was eagerly awaiting to get my hands on this new phone, but unfortunately, this has been launched on a slightly premium price. The phone could have succeeded if it was in a price range of sub 13K. Otherwise the pros and cons are Pros a. Dual core processor b. Gesture Control (which come full fledged with Android 4 version) c. Real gud built quality d. Gorilla glass display Cons: a. Price could have been between 13-14k max b. No flash for the camera c. Puny battery for a dual core d. Vital - no Gingerbread so no video calls! Final verdict: Can wait for couple of months to see the market response and price dropdown to buy!

  • It's Tian Hua K-Touch W700 rebranded
Namah Pandey (Nov 1, 2011) on Flipkart
Guys - micromax/olive/g'five et al, just re-brand Chinese phones and import them into the India market. This phone if Tian Hua's (never heard of Chinese company) K-Touch W700. Google for it, u'll know. Alibaba has released this with "Aliyun" OS in China. And this is the only difference from the on sold in China for about $400. Other brands reduce color density or the RAM size to cut prices for the Indian market, micromax didn't do it - appreciate that micromax! about froyo or gingerbread - sooner or later the upgrade would be available.

  • SHOULD WE GO FOR MICROMAX
VISHWANATH LOTLIKAR (Dec 1, 2011) on Flipkart
Guys whatever you say but Phone with such features surely comes for higher price somewhere around 24K, But guys even if its for 19K the person having caliber to buy will surely spend some more bugs and go for other reputed BRANDS. The reason I say this is because I have used Micromax once surely after trying NOKIA's LG's and SAMSUNG before but MICROMAX is still a growing company, U can feel other phones much better than these when it comes to comparision. Ya its true Micromax offers same feature phone for lesser price when compared to others . The decision is ours guys

it has been about 3-4 years micro-max phones are in market, but there are no phones made by this company which lasted (properly functional) for more then 2 years. :-) it is better not to invest on gadgets with very less longevity.

  • Not what the customers expected!!!
Kishore Kumar (Nov 1, 2011) on Flipkart
I was one of the many consumers, who were eagerly waiting for this phone. But atlast it turned out to be a great disappointment. Why? See below. 1. Android Version - While every other manufacturer is striving to release mobiles based on ice cream sandwich, micromax was able to give us only Froyo. What a pity!! 2. Battery Life - We all know dual core is a battery sucker. How is the 1500 mAh battery going to stand against the hungry processor? We have to wait for reviews, but still it's a big let down. 3 Price - We all buy Micromax not because of brand loyalty but only for the 'value for money'. I was expecting this to be priced around 13-14k range. But lets wait and see... If the sales are alarmingly low, MicroMax will defenitely reduce the price. This is an over priced mobile with poor battery and obsolete OS. Sure there are some postive reasons to buy it, but defenitely the negatives overweigh them. - Kichilee

  • Old OS with High Price
Rudra Garnaik (Nov 1, 2011) on Flipkart
I was appreciating Micromax because of low cost smart phones with good features. This model will again lead Micromax to down because of two reasons: 1- Public eating gingerbread...who will go for froyo OS. 2- High cost for Micromax(18K)-fool will pay. not me. Remaining all is good as such. I waisted my time waiting for this phone. I will go for NFC android phone which ever and what ever cost it may.

This phone is not at all worth the money. It is really over priced and really does not have that kind of appeal. Plus the obsolete OS is a total turn off. Instead of buying this phone, I recommend you checkout the xperia neo V. Which has almost the same features, looks much better and is at a cheaper price.

  • Not So Impressive
Chandra Kant Singh (Nov 1, 2011) on Flipkart
I am surprised by seeing that why it is priced so high (Rs. 18990)? Micromax A70 is available at approx. 7000 Rs., this A85 & A70 have many common features like: 1. Android 2.2 (What is this? at this price it must be 2.3), 2. 5MP camera (With NO FLASH!), 3. Secondary Camera (Of no use because video calling is not possible in both phones). Only main difference between these two is- Processor, Internal memory, Gesture control and Screen. If it is priced at 10-12k then it may be good, otherwise at 18-19k many best phones are available so no need to go for it and waste your money.

If they could not even put gingerbread , don't expect any timely upgrade . Most likely , this will be a flop and you will be stuck with froyo forever. 20K is a lot of money to be wasted like this. Buy a galaxy S or galaxy SL . You will save a ton of money and the hassles. What good is dual core when most of the apps won't support your OS? #FAIL

Sony Ericsson Ray / Neo V..both in the range of 17K and will be upgraded to ICS(Andriod 4.0) in March-2012. Ray has an best of the market 8M Pixel Camera...They have best in business touchwiz application and so on... Why waste so much money on the phone trying its hand on Smartphone business rather than purchasing a phone which established itself.
