Facebook has launched some filters for its 'On This Day' tool for users that would let them specify moments they don't want to be reminded of on the social website. It aims to give more customisation options to users, ensuring they are not disturbed by bad memories.

"We know that people share a range of meaningful moments on Facebook," said a company spokesperson to The Verge. "As a result, everyone has various kinds of memories that can be surfaced - good, bad, and everything in between. So for the millions of people who use 'On This Day,' we've added these filters to give them more control over the memories they see."

Users can go to Apps section of the left-hand sidebar, select 'On This Day' option on top. After selecting it, users would be shown Facebook moments from the past. There, on the right-side users would then have to click on 'Preferences' option, under which the filters would be available.

After launching the On This Day feature in March this year, Facebook saw some users accusing the social media giant of having reawakened painful memories. On This Day feature is similar to 'Look Back' and 'Year in Review' features. However, it would show users what they did/posted on the same day in the past. It shows users posts, photos, videos shared by them or tagged by others from the same date in the past years, all on a single page, unlike the curated video format in Look Back but similar to the timeline format of Year in Review.

Last week, Facebook started testing its new feature called 'Reactions'. Available only for Ireland and Spain for now, the feature would let users express a range of emotions on posts. The emoticons introduced represent - love, yay, wow, haha, sad, and angry.
