Facebook, after testing option to post stickers in comments for almost two months, has now made the feature official.

The social giant announced that stickers will be available in comments on users' Timelines, in Groups, and also in Events. Notably, these stickers were until now Facebook Messenger exclusive.

Making the announcement, Bob Baldwin, one of the engineers on the project, posted on his Facebook Timeline, "Stickers have been a delightful way to communicate in messages, and I'm happy to announce we're bringing them to comments across Facebook. Just tap the smiley face icon in the bottom-right of any comment field to pick a sticker to send. It'll be available to all posts from people, in groups, and on events now. I think stickers will allow people to reply to a variety of posts in a more fun way than words alone. You can now easily show your excitement for a post with good news, cheer up a friend who's feeling down, and express a variety of more nuanced reactions."

Baldwin added, "Stickers in comments will rollout worldwide over the next day or so."

With the roll-out of the new stickers' option, Facebook users can add stickers in the same way they do in the Facebook Messenger app. The sticker button can be found placed besides the camera button in the comments bar. On clicking the sticker button, the option would expand with a number of default stickers and other sticker packs purchased by the user. Notably, the new stickers button has rolled out to the NDTV Gadgets Facebook account.

Last week, Facebook started rolling out a new layout for the Photos section on its Android and iOS apps, and also added a new 'Uploads' tab. The new design in the Facebook app showed a new collage-style design in the Photos section and in the new Uploads tab, enlarging the most-liked images among them.
